The Naples Defense, guided by Cliff Greer and Mike Sawchuck, held the state's leading rusher to under 100 yards for the first time this year. Meanwhile, Jevan Raphael picked up 150 yards on the ground, and Nicksen Volvic tacked on 132 yards on only 7 carries. Devin Dunford completed passes for 49 yards to JJ Exantus, 42 to Wes Peterson, and a critical first-down pass for 15 yards to Brody Hubbell. Sacks by Roger Schlaupitz and Dylan Garcia pushed the Sharks back, and a Jelani Georgies interception at the goal line frustrated them even more.
The win allows Naples to win out and secure another District Championship. Even if the Sharks and Eagles finish tied at the end of the regular season, Naples now owns the tiebreaker.
